The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the seven films being considered for Achievement in Visual Effects: The Aviator, The Day After Tomorrow, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I, Robot, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Spider-Man 2.

The finalists will be announced along with nominations in 23 other categories on Tuesday, January 25 and the Oscar ceremony will take place on February 27th.
