McDonald's + Oklahoma = Wi-Fi
Isabelle Hontebeyrie
Seventeen McDonald's restaurants in Oklahoma now offer customers high-speed wireless internet access (a.k.a. Wi-Fi) for wireless-enabled notebook computers and handheld devices.
McDonald's is the first fast-food restaurant to offer high-speed wireless access.
The new Wi-Fi service is being tested in Oklahoma, one of only four markets in the nation to have the technology. Other markets include San Francisco, Boise and Portland.
Customers can identify participating restaurants by signage that displays the Golden Arches in the universal Internet @ symbol. Cost for a two-hour wireless Internet connection at these locations is $3.95, with other options available.
