National World War II memorial stamp

U.S. Postal Service issues the National World War II Memorial postage stamp at 1:25 p.m. EST May 29 in Washington, DC.
As a tribute to veterans unable to attend, many Post Offices across the nation will conduct similar events to recognize their local veterans over the Memorial Day weekend.
On the Mall in Washington, DC, a limited quantity of Official First-Day Collectable Envelopes bearing the stamp and the Official First-Day-Of-Issue Postmark will be available at three locations near the World War II National Memorial.
The locations are:
* northeast of the Memorial across 17th Street near Constitution Ave.;
* just south of the Washington Monument and north of Independence Ave. SW; and,
* southwest of the Memorial and just north of Independence Ave.
Framed stamp art of the Memorial and other related stamp collectables will be available inside the MCI Center at 7th and F Streets NW, and also in a Mobile Post Office parked near Metro's Union Station exit at First Street and Mass Ave., NW.
The stamp will be available at Post Offices nationwide the same day. Many Post Offices across the nation will conduct similar events to recognize their local veterans over the Memorial Day weekend.
