Waypath plugins
Isabelle Hontebeyrie
I'm testing a "related posts" Waypath plugin that I'll be installing pretty soon (hopefully).
Consider this: a plugin that automatically displays related posts, under your own, from a large array of blogs.
Nice, isn't it? Well, that's what Waypath is offering (free!!!).
I've been studying their plugin for a few weeks and what I've seen is interesting enough for me to consider finally installing it.
Advantages:
1) you can set your preferences from a broad search to a sharper search
2) you can set the number of results you want
3) you can sort the results by date or relevance
4) you can choose between showing only title of post, showing title, blogname, and date/time the post was indexed or showing summary in addition to the rest
5) it's a definite "plus" for blog readers and gives complementary information on a subject.
Drawbacks:
1) it doesn't work for French posts (not yet at least... from the guys at Waypath)
2) the related posts don't open in a new browser window
I'm still studying:
1) the bandwidth used
2) the possibility of often rebuilding my blog without making that process too long.
PS: benoitbisson.com installed it yesterday, with much success.
